Are Discount Supplements Actually Good for Your health?

By Irfan Hassan
Food Supplements, discount supplements are rarely better.

Over the past few years, everyone has become acutely aware of their health and wellness. We’re all looking to improve our overall health and well-being.

No matter where you turn, from the TV to Newspapers, we can’t help but absorb information about how it’s more important than ever to be improving our health. Because of this desire to be healthier, a wide range of vitamins and supplements have become available on the market.

Each and every one of them will advise you that they will help you on the road to increasing your health. But are supplements good for your health in the first place? Today we’re going to lift the lid on using supplements to increase your overall health and wellbeing.

Always do your research before buying any supplement product!

If you’re looking to improve your health, you might find yourself feeling a little bit overwhelmed by the selection available. You could choose a brand of cheap supplements, and many people do. But it’s important to actually know what is in these products before you put them into your body!

A great example of needing to understand what your supplements are made of, is Vitamin C Tablets

There’s a good chance you have some Vitamin C tablets somewhere in your home, or maybe in the car. And each and every day you’re taking them as the product label advises you to. Often you can pick up some “Vitamin C” for as little as a penny a tablet.

Unfortunately, these cheap tablets that you’re popping like smarties usually contain a form of “Vitamin C” that has been manufactured in a lab, known as Ascorbic Acid.

Because Ascorbic Acid isn’t something that our bodies evolved to use, your body doesn’t know how to actually USE the Ascorbic acid to provide you with the health benefits that we associate with Vitamin C!

Discount supplements are rarely better

I know, I know. It can be tempting to cut costs when shopping for supplements. In fact, there’s a good chance you’ve come across this post whilst searching for some discount supplements.

As we all know “If you Buy Cheap, You Buy Twice” the only problem is when you’re buying cheap discount supplements. You’re putting cheap products into your body. Without always knowing exactly what it contains!

Another great example is that people will often choose to go for the cheaper option is Protein Powders. Discounted Whey protein has become all the rage recently with more and more people having an interest in weight training.

But have you ever actually stopped to think about the quality of the product, if a retailer can sell any form of protein powder cheaply. It should be fairly safe to say that the raw ingredients that went into the product were probably sourced quite cheaply as well!

This might mean that the discount supplements you are buying are put into your body. May have fillers to bring up the weight. Or the Raw Ingredients may have been sourced from farms that don’t always apply the greatest practices when raising their cows for milk.

Or if you’re entirely plant-based, without doing adequate research into the products you are putting into your body. You have no idea what chemicals have been sprayed onto the raw materials you are ingesting to ensure maximum profit margins for both the retailer and the manufacturer!

Some Discount Supplements are the white-label products!

A white label product is a product that was manufactured and sold to a retailer, then the retailer will place their own label onto the packaging and Claim it as their own!

Shockingly there are a large number of companies on the market that are offering “White Label” Supplements. These retailers will often add their own labels to the product and add a very large amount of profits onto the price tag to maximise the profits they make on your sale.

All the whilst if you’d made your purchase higher up the food chain, as it were. If and purchased the supplements Directly From the manufacturer, not only would you be receiving the same quality supplement. But you can save enormous amounts of money by buying supplements directly from the source!

So it’s very important to understand where your supplements are being manufactured!

If a retailer is wanting to keep this close to their chest. Usually, they’ll talk about their “Lab” on Social media.

If there’s zero evidence available that the retailer is actually manufacturing their own products. That’s a huge red flag that suggests maybe you’re not getting the best deal available to you!

Dieting is the ideal place to start, as it can make the most improvements to your health.  Dieting can change your body, and make you feel a lot better as well.

These days, a lot of people eat way too many sweets and sugar, choosing refined products over healthy food.  Even though it isn’t a bad thing to enjoy sweets and chocolate, you should never make a habit out of it.  You can still enjoy your favorite foods as well, although you should be looking at the healthy benefits of food as well and think of everything as a whole.

If you include healthy foods such as salads, vegetables, and fruit into your diet, you’ll be eating healthy.  Protein is also beneficial to your health, as it promotes the growth of your muscle.  Those of you, who are serious about eating healthy but are unsure where to start, should contact a nutritionist.  They will be able to tell you where to start, and how to achieve a healthy diet that will change your life.

Even though you may be eating healthy or trying to eat healthily, you’ll probably find yourself wondering about vitamins and supplements and how much of an impact they have on your diet.  Dietitians are ideal to consult with these types of questions, as they can answer any questions relating to vitamins that you have.  They can also tell you which supplements are ideal for your health, and which ones you should include in your diet.

Different people will have different needs and requirements, making it essential to get advice from a qualified professional.  If you get the advice from a professional, you’ll know what you can add to your diet.  If you try to do it all yourself without the advice of a professional, you can end up not getting enough in your diet, or you could end up taking something that you shouldn’t be taking.

Exercise is also important to your diet and your health.  Although supplements and vitamins will go a long way, exercise will do a lot for your body.  If you exercise regularly, and take the right supplements and vitamins with your diet, you’ll notice that you have more energy and you feel better than you ever have in your life.

Before you start with your new diet or rush out and buy your new vitamin supplements, you should always check with your doctor first to see if he has any recommendations.  You should also tell him what type of exercise you are planning on doing, and see if there are any complications with your health.  Getting a healthy lifestyle is always a great thing, although you should always consult with your doctor.  This way, you’ll know the best way to start and how to go about getting in the best shape of your life.
